Thursday 21 February 2019, 19:45 - 20:45

Av. da Liberdade 225A, Lisbon, Portugal

Here's the February edition of require('lx')! We've got two great talks in store for you, followed by discussion time + networking. First Talk"Front-end unit testing - Jest and Enzyme", by Ruben Azevedo (@Rubendsa95) Description"This talk is more focused around React components. Why do we even need unit-tests in frontend? Why can't we just do integration tests and cover all the use cases? WTF is a Jest's snapshot? Why do i really need this? Is this even helpful? Is TDD a good approach in front-end environment? These are all questions that might popup when you're developing your components. We will take a look on some of the Jest and Enzyme basic functionality's, and how they can help you on your daily basis. Also, writing tests doesn't have to be a painful thing to do and also we will be discussing some tests architecture.Last but not least, we will talk about the right amount of sugar for unit-tests vs integration tests." Second Talk"Fasttest.io, how it works and how to use it to bring your e2e tests to the next level?" by Fábio Santos (@fabiosantosart) Description"Learn you can use the fasttest.io service for browser e2e tests and other automation tasks." The meetup will be hosted by Zalando at their offices in Avenida da Liberdade. As always, there will be plenty of snacks and beer! Please, confirm your attendance, and feel free to bring along a colleague or fellow JavaScript geek! Hope to see you there!
