require('lx') - The JavaScript meetup in Lisbon - March's Meetup

Thursday 28 March 2019, 19:45 - 20:45

-, Lisbon, Portugal

Here's the March edition of require('lx')! We've got two great talks in store for you, followed by discussion time + networking. First Talk"Lessons learnt while migrating from Flow to TypeScript", by David Gomes (@davidrfgomes) Description"We recently ported over 30 thousand lines of code from Flow to TypeScript at MemSQL. We learnt a lot about Flow, TypeScript and statically typing JavaScript/React applications in general during this process. In this talk, I'm going to share some of the most interesting things we encountered, as well as give tips on Flow vs TypeScript and statically typing JavaScript applications." Second Talk"Let's Talk Performance" by José Carneiro (@josemcarneiro) Description"High performance is key goal when building any client facing product. In this talk we'll go over common performance issues when building client-side web apps, as well as some not so widely known techniques and practices that might just take your product from average speed to lightning fast." The meetup will be hosted by Drover at their offices near Avenida da Liberdade. As always, there will be plenty of snacks and beer! Please, confirm your attendance, and feel free to bring along a colleague or fellow JavaScript geek! Hope to see you there!
