Carrer Laura Bassi 1, Parc Bit, Palma de Mallorca, España
PyData Mallorca is proud to announce our 12th meetup, sponsored by Hotelbeds Group (https://www.hotelbeds.com). What is PyData? PyData is a group for users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. We gather to discuss how best to apply Python tools, as well as those using R and Julia, to meet the evolving challenges in data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. Location The 12th meetup will be held at the Auditorium of Parc Bit (http://www.parcbit.es/), Parc Balear d'Innovació Tecnològica. Thanks to Parc Bit (http://www.parcbit.es/) for letting us use the Auditorium! You can find a complete map of Parc Bit (http://www.parcbit.es/) at: http://www.parcbit.es/wparcbitfront/images/pdf/planoParque.pdf Number 1, Son Espanyol (AUDITORI), is the place where we will meet. Agenda 7:00pm - Doors open and networking 7:05pm - Community announcements (Spanish) News and information about the community. Share yours too! 7:20pm - Sponsor presentation 7:25pm - Keynote + Q&A (Spanish) Boosting Distribution Strategy with Data Science. A practical use case- Luis Mota (Suppliers APIs Product Owner at Hotelbeds Group). Caching fresh and consistent inventory data from an online supply chain is a complex problem. In the last years, the industry has been investing a huge amount of resources in order to manually set the inventory refresh rules for the best outcomes. This human task has become impossible due to the increase of data volumes and complexity, requiring the aid of model-based tools or even its complete automation. The talk is a brief overview on some of the current use cases being developed by Hotelbeds Group using reinforcement and supervised learning approaches, their benefits as well as some of the technologies (cloud engines, pyspark...) that make it possible when data sets would not fit in a mainstream computer. 8:00pm - Lightning, Kung-fu Pandas and PyFail talks • Lightning talk 1: Statistical experimentation techniques, Eleanor Hughes (English). TBC. • Lightning talk 2: TBA. 8:25pm - Refreshments and networking Sponsorship Thanks to our sponsor Hotelbeds Group (https://www.hotelbeds.com)!
