NSCoder Night Madrid - NSPresenter
Monday 10 September 2018, 19:00 - 20:00
So, as I said in Spanish, we will have a very special guest who will be speaking for us. He is no other than Mattt (https://twitter.com/mattt). The title of his talk is "Making MessagePack Human-Readable (and Writeable)". MessagePack is a binary serialization format. It’s similar to JSON, in that it can represent the same kinds of structures and values, but MessagePack can do so faster and smaller. However, as a binary format, MessagePack isn’t meant to be human-readable …but we’re going to help change that at this event. After a quick introduction to the basics of MessagePack, we’ll break into small groups to play an original game that will have you working together to interpret binary data and create new messages. Whether you work with binary data formats every day, or you’ve never seen them before (or even a little scared of them, perhaps), this event promises to be a fun and memorable opportunity for some hands-on learning and socializing with fellow members of the developer community. For those who have been living under a rock and don't know Mattt, he is the founder of Flight School a new book series about Swift, and NSHipster a journal of the overlooked bits in Objective-C, Swift, and Cocoa. Previously, he worked at Apple as a technical writer, contributing to The Swift Programming Language, Swift Package Manager, and Swift.org. See you there!
