LJC - London Java Community - Behaviour Driven development with Cucumber-JVM - Aslak Hellesøy

Tuesday 11 August 2015, 19:15 - 20:15

London, EC2M 2RB, GB, London, Reino Unido

Presented by Aslak Hellesøy. Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) is a collaborative approach to software development that bridges the communication gap between business and IT. BDD helps teams communicate requirements with more precision, discover defects early and produce software that remains maintainable over time. The BDD approach enhances agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. I will give a brief overview of the history of BDD, and the high level practices. Then I will introduce Gherkin, the plain English syntax for executable specifications. After this I will show how those specifications can be used to guide the development of the business logic for a social network. I will finish off by presenting some sound architectural patterns that also makes BDD easier. Who should attend: The talk is suitable for developers at all levels. Bio:  Aslak Hellesøy is the creator of Cucumber (10M downloads) and the author of the Cucumber Book (20k copies sold).
