Having fun in tech, regardless of the business

Friday 10 June 2016, 18:30 - 19:30

Ironhack Campus BCN C/Pamplona, 96, Barcelona, España

Sometimes developers think that what a company does is the most important thing when it’s time to tell if it’s an interesting place to work at or not. But in my experience, it’s something superfluous and, instead of the WHAT, the interesting part is HOW you solve problems with technology. After all, at Quipu we just deal with invoices and boring information! How have we transformed such dull tasks for our users, like tracking your expenses and keeping your accounting in order, into something interesting and fun to work with as a developer? We’ll reveal it in this talk ;)

Albert Bellonch graduated as a computer engineer from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya after a couple of academic experiences abroad in Turin and London. After coming back, he joined a then-starting itnig, a long-term technology-focused consultancy in Barcelona, and stayed throughout the process of turning the company into a startup accelerator. Three years ago, inside itnig, he cofounded Quipu, a fintech SaaS for SMEs, bookkeepers and freelances, where he has been leading the technology department.
