Docker Madrid - Docker Meetup @CampusMadrid

Tuesday 20 February 2018, 19:00 - 20:00

Campus Madrid, Calle de Manzanares, 1, Madrid, España

February's Meetup hosted by Campus Madrid SCHEDULE 19:10 Pablo Moncada: Helm and Draft (in Spanish) Helm is the "package manager" for Kubernetes. It allows us to access dozens of applications packaged and ready to use in production, but it also allows us to package our own applications facilitating their deployment. Draft allows us in a very simple way to contain our applications and deploy them in a Kubernetes development cluster in the fastest and most similar way to a production environment. Pablo is a DevOps engineer at BQ for 4 years. He works in digitalization and transformation of production systems to the cloud with Docker and Kubernetes in AWS and GCP. In his experience working with Kubernetes and micro services, he will tell us how to introduce Helm and Draft into our development and deployment workflows. 19:50 Javier Provecho: Deploy to Kubernetes with Docker Compose (in Spanish) We'll demo how can you reutilize existing Docker Compose manifests to deploy your services into Kubernetes using the latest beta of Docker for Mac. 20:00 Daniel Berman: Docker and Logging (in English) Logging remains one of the most valuable ways to troubleshoot and monitor our applications, but in software development today, the task has become extremely difficult due to the nature of modern environments. In this talk, Daniel will detail the various challenges facing developers in a microservices and Dockerized world, and how to use ELK to tackle them with centralized logging and a touch of machine learning. Daniel Berman is a Product Evangelist at Logz.io, talking and writing about ELK, Docker and AWS. Daniel is a regular contributor to SitePoint and DZone and the organizer of TLV-PHP Meetup, Tel Aviv Elasticsearch and DevOpsDays Tel Aviv. About Docker: Docker is an open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications. Consisting of Docker Engine, a portable, lightweight runtime and packaging tool, and Docker Hub, a cloud service for sharing applications and automating workflows, Docker enables apps to be quickly assembled from components and eliminates the friction between development, QA, and production environments.
