DevOps Engineer

As part of our expansion plans for 2019, we are looking for a recent graduate (0-5 years’ experience) to join our Technology and Software Engineering department in Madrid.

Job description:

The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team working in a variety of R&D and consulting projects.

His/her main responsibilities will include:

• cooperate with our product development teams in data-related projects to achieve reliable and scalable solutions;
• automate new workflows and integrate them into Nommon’s infrastructure to maximise performance and productivity;
• monitor, manage and maintain the stability and performance of our computing, storage and networking infrastructure;
• develop and test methods, algorithms and tools for the integration, management, characterisation, analysis and visualisation of data originated from multiple distributed sources;
• contribute to all stages of the software life-cycle: requirements management, design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance;
• contribute to the definition of innovative products, services, and business models.

Qualifications and skills:

Required:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of UNIX and Windows administration and shell scripting.
• Understanding of modern web architectures, distributed systems, data processing and storage solutions.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, C/C++.
• Excellent English and Spanish oral and written communication skills.

Nice to have, but not indispensable:

• Experience/knowledge in software engineering processes, procedures, methodologies and tools.
• Experience/knowledge in best practices for setting up and configuring cloud computing services.
• Experience/knowledge in continuous integration tools and/or configuration management tools.
